tired.

Lord, refresh me.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Come, refresh me, renew my mind.

Prophesy to 2006

Ling:

diligent - the hands of the diligent lead to much. And didn't we all learn that work releases glory and potential?!

disciplined - crucify my flesh!

spiritual - mature people are led by the Spirit

confident - If God is for me, who can be against me?

fun - God is the master of fun! Afterall, He has come to give me abundant life =)

positive - The world is negative enough already, I'm not part of that camp.

full of peace and joy - the kingdom of God is about righteousness, peace and joy.

forgiving - God desires mercy!

anointed - without Him, i can do nothing.

winsome - he who wins souls is wise

sharp - I'm destined to be the head and not the tail

Whether I have all of that or not, I'm a vessel-in-the-making! Lord, teach me to depend on You.
Days ahead: less sleep, more readings, more work, more dependence.

Lead me.

Abuden by Budak Pantai

This has got to be the V day song of the year!
Wouldn't mind if my husband sings it for me when we get married :) It's so funny!

Budak Pantai by the way is a local acappella group. Great vocals and good sense of Sg humour. I'm gonna buy their album this wed :)
Here goes:

I’d swim the deepest ocean
I’d cross the widest sea
I’d climb the highest mountain
Just to have you here with me (x 2)

I’d fly across the Milky Way
To bring a ring of Saturn for you
Gal for you there’s not a lot of things that I wouldn’t do
My love for you is like the flower
It blooms with each new day

And if you ask if I’m serious
This is what I have to say
Abuden
You think I’m only joking
What you don’t believe what I’d say that I would
Abuden
You think I won’t do what I’m telling you

….

The truth is I’m so fond of you
I’m as siao as I can be
So baby listen to what I’m saying

I’d wrestle with a lion
And pull a tooth out just for you
I’d sleep with a hundred gorillas
And pluck their armpit hairs too
I’d French kiss poisonous snakes
I’d swallow a thousand swords
I’d do whatever it takes
I’d bungee jump without a cord
You see I’m just so crazy about you
And I don’t know the reason why
I’d do all kinds of stupid things
I’d even watch Budak Pantai

CNY II

This CNY is spent largely on project... for SW3216. But it's been a pretty special and fun one.

1. Went jogging with my bro for the first time. Decided that I'd not go jogging with him again, or any guy for that matter until I become fitter. He slowed down for me, motivated me to keep going, asked if I was ok. Sweet bro huh. It was a no-kick for him, I felt like I was out of oxygen all the time. But it is a really nice route! Nice, quiet route that leads to Botanic Gardens.. Ridout Road, Swettenham Road, Peel Road, Pierce Road... high-sounding names too. Reminded me of the very memorable NJC Road Run.

2. Saw him sitting in the kitchen quietly while she washed the dishes and prepared food. He must be one of the meekest man I've ever seen. He remained quiet even though certain comments she made weren't that tactful. They were matchmade - people of that time basically did not have a choice. He is such a helpful man. I see faithfulness and meekness in him, while I see the drive to get the family going in her. You could say it's abusive but I think it's really a deep, loving and abiding commitment to each other, to the children and the family beneath all the squabbling. If you know DISC, then I'd say he's a SC while she's a DI. It's a beautiful relationship. Much, much more endearing than seeing teenage couples hug and kiss on Orchard Road.

There are only so many people who leave special marks on your life in this single lifetime.

Enjoyed myself also cos I've got a really fun bunch of project mates! As potential social workers, we understand the challenges and doubts we face.. for a profession that's not really recognised by people. I feel at home with them!
